About The Cooks Shed
We are two families producing innovative and exquisite food from the best of Suffolk ingredients, great British produce and responsibly sourced global goods, and serving it to you in a delightful way. We believe in using the finest ingredients to lead our menus. We cook from scratch – we bake, ferment and cure in-house. We forage wild food ourselves.
Vlad and Matt are the chefs, with spouses Eliza and Diana and
young children behind the scenes. Vlad’s cooking heritage goes back to the heady days of London fine dining in the 90s and 2000s. He worked alongside masters and Michelin-star chefs including Anton Edelman and Graham Garrett, and at the influential Blandford Street Restaurant, gaining him vast experience of classical and cutting edge techniques. He developed an enviable repertoire as a top-level fine dining chef.
Matt had a successful appearance on MasterChef and worked in renowned London restaurants Ottolenghi and Moro. He has a degree in biology and a deep interest in the natural environment, enabling him to identify and collect edible wild plants, understand the seasonality of cultivated vegetables and grasp the biochemical complexities of preservation and fermentation. Both have been drawn by the splendour of Suffolk produce. The Cooks’ Shed brings together Vlad’s technical mastery and Matt’s profound botanical insight.
Our food is innovative and exciting, sometimes comforting, sometimes exhilarating, always delightful.
You can buy individual dishes and puddings, ready-to-eat or reheat roast packs, large stews for groups or to freeze and choose from our range of house-made products including our famous breads. We can offer a bespoke dining package, so get in touch with any special requirements.
Although our service remains at a distance and our smiles sit behind masks, we prepare and cook our food with no less passion. We continue to love what we do and value your custom more than ever. To our regulars, we also want simply to say, thank you.
Warmest wishes,
Matt, Vlad, Diana and Eliza
